Okeydoke... so... it's Wednesday. And hey, this past weekend I was in the Artist Alley at Denver ComicFest. It was a good time.

Friday: Got my mini-comics finished up (ie: stapled and folded) and headed off to the hotel. I got there around 2pm and got set up. They opened the Artist Alley and the dealer's room at 4pm. I got to spend some time just hanging out with a few of the other artists. Friday is never a particularly strong day, so basically I just sat around, did some drawing, and talked to people.

Saturday: Back to the convention at 9am. Saturday is always the busiest day of the convention, and I had a lot of foot traffic coming by the table, but only a couple of sales throughout the day. On the plus side, I got some good drawing time in. I also got to spend a bit of time talking to Andy (Firebreather "as seen on Cartoon Network!") Kuhn and Ben "Ninja High School" Dunn. Both of them were very cool. In an amazing act of self-restraint I did NOT buy the J. Scott Campbell sketchbook, even though I had it in hand while waiting in line to get an autograph. Of course I also didn't get the autograph because I had to get back to my table and he was doing a Hulk sketch for someone and it was going to take for-evvver. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Sunday: More drawing (shocker!). Plus, several sales. My theory is that after Saturday people have spent the majority of their money on the "big stuff" and are ready to buy their smaller purchases like mini-comics. I had also drawn a few trading card sketches (Batgirl & Scarlet Witch) and someone bought them! They also had me draw a Wonder Woman card. So, keen! I also made my first (and only) purchase of the weekend: an inked illustration of Angry Faerie by Ben Dunn. And it looks AMAZING.

And that was pretty much the weekend.

I've gotta know, is there some kind of adhesive that keeps that top in place or is it faerie magic?

@Jrade - well since you really want to see the illustration, I've gone ahead and posted it. It's also located in the Fan Art section.

@Magravan - I did have fun. And yes, there are still mini-comics left! Drop me a note through ComicFury or email me at angryfaerie@rocketmail.com . The first two epic volumes (ha ha) can be purchased together for $5.00 + S&H.

@Lina - I think her clothes are just too scared to fall off. She'd probably cause them serious damage if they caused a wardrobe malfunction.

Don't post much on the older pages (since almost nobody ever reads the comments on them) but just have to say:

Hellz yeah! Dunns' AF ROCKS!

Yeah, no one posts a lot of comments these days... which does make me a sad panda.... but yes, Ben Dunn did a great job on this commission. It hangs above my drawing table along with non-AF commissions from Adam Hughes and George Perez.
